2010 Events under UPM

I know i have been neglecting my dear blog for quite a long time,couldn't find any mood (or fast connection speed) for my first semester as a mass communications student in UPM.There are just too many stories to tell,experiences unimaginable,a new environment that brought such a rollercoaster of feelings.

I don't want to be so detailed, i'm just going to give a summary of events i've attended this semester under UPM.These chances weren't available back during the school times.You can say i'm making full use of any new adventures and life learning experiences as i can.I'd be like,"hey!there's an event at dot dot dot,JOmmm!!"

I'm exploring the city life bit by bit,sometimes too bold and ignoring the risks...But it's kind of..my nature to be seeking for adventures that are thrilling!

Merdeka Award Video Competition 2010 (MAViC)

MAViC was held in UPM itself.It's an open video-making competition for university students,local or private.There were two categories,which are documentary and short film.Performers that night were Hazami,artiste from AF,as well as the highlight of the night (which made people fill up the hall for their reason),the band Bunkface.They rocked pretty hard,but we couldn't let go and jump to them as it all felt like a formal event.The big winner for MAViC 2010 that night was UTAR.I hope there's MAViC every year,so that i can be the next big winner when i'm ready to come up with my own short film!hoyeahh!!(mimpi besaq sunggoh).

Datuk Aziz Satar,Julia Ziegler,and David Teo were among the big names that were present.

Media Night 2010

Media Night is an annual event held by UPM to appreciate people in the media industry especially journalists who have helped spread news and write articles about UPM.To be frank,the event was pretty...dull and quiet,i was hoping it would be much lively and full of energy.Instead,it was just a hall of golf-tournament-like applause.Oh well,we had to make the best of it,and strut our stuff (hours of make up and money spent to buy purple-black clothes for the theme).

First time i had my hair up up in a bun with chopsticks...yes..literally speaking,wooden chopsticks si Elly had in her closet for maggi mee purposes =D

FINAS: Malam Bersama Artis

This is actually an yearly event where FINAS would hold a laidback non-formal mini concert and promotion for local movies and artiste.I was thrilled to finally arrive at FINAS for the first time!The host of the night was Didi Elyas dressed in an eye-catching rockstar theme jacket,jeans and boots, with her hair done……shockingly rock-ish.HAHA.Performers were Fiq mentor,and Ramlah Ram.Time tuh baru I tau nama samaran dia ‘Kak Melah’…right??The fun part was when both artiste invited our upm students up on stage to sing with them (bdk2 upm sempoi,sporting,haha…,),I wasn’t one of them of course.Lagu depa pun I tak reti nyanyi,nanti buat malu ja ~_~. They were promoting the film 'ESTET' and even gave a free movie-watching session at the end of the latest Senario Asam garam.

We saw the movie Asam Garam already.So we decided to spend some time taking pics.

Sepetang Bersama Ana Raffali

Too bad....i came too late to hear her beautiful voice that i've been admiring since her youtube cover of With or Without You.But it's okay,,,my short of breath running from the bus stop to Latar Siswa didn't go to waste.She was still there having lunch.A picture with her was good enough for me,yippee!!!

Cuci The Musical 2

Since i joined PENTAS,which is an open theatre club,we were given the opportunity to go watch cuci the musical.Yes,knowing me,i was sceptical about Cuci being my first live musical experience.But shame on my scepticism,it was one of the best!!Totally hillarious and professional,worth it!! (except the poor seats we got,which forced us to be on our feet to get a better view).I was laughing hysterically at the antics of Afdlin Shauki,Awie,Nabil,Hans Isaac,Harith Iskandar,and the rest of the performers.I think Cuci made me admire Awie's voice!HAHA!It's true!Now i actually have his songs in my playlist!How so-not-zetty is that huh =p !*Tinggal kenangannnnnn....gagal segala impiannn...lalalala*

Forum Perdana Edisi Khas

I couldn't find any photos of this event,i knew i took some photos of Fahrin Ahmad..where is it....Oh yahh,the topic for that night was about financial problems and how to manage your money and credit card..if i'm not mistaken.I was paying attention,i swear!*sweat drop*.....Well,at least when Fahrin was right by our side...and..and when 5 guys (or was it 4) wearing baju melayu which made up the group FLAVA was singing...ngeeee....Rizu's part of FLAVA too!Remember OIAM?*wink wink*

I think those mentioned above are most of it,hehe.

PS: A mass comm student doesn't live a glamorous life.At least not for me.So stop being so stereotypical.

I accept things the way they are.

Silence doesn't mean i agree.

But why should i pour petrol on fire,rub salt on wounds.

What i'm trying to do and be,is to look at the brighter side of life the best way i can.I hope you will too,without having to take out(or talk out) the brightness of others on purpose.
