Earlier tonight,i had my aiesec junior executive interview, and the departments i applied for were Incoming Exchange (ICX-handles interns from abroad) and External Relations under HOPE (hiv/aids charity work).
It lasted almost about half and hour. The interview was handled by the senior members themselves, and it was pretty laid back.I was totally as honest as i could be,believe me.There were quite a number of challenging questions like,
"what would you do if after joining aiesec, your grades started to fail?"
"What are your strengths, how will your strengths help this department you're applying for?"
"What type of character do you hate the most, and how do you handle it if you were put in a group that has those characters?"
"what was the most challenging phase or experience that was the hardest you've gone through?"
But,among all the questions,i was pretty much firm on the ground with this one.
"Ahhh...okayy,this is always my favourite question, haha.Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No,i don't," *smiles*
"Okayy, what if you have a boyfriend, and you love him veryy veryy much. But he breaks up with you on the day you have to manage a big aiesec event, how will you handle it,...?"
I took a moment to put myself in that situation for a while
"Ermm...i don't think i will be affected, because boyfriend is not my priority. No,i won't be affected,i'd still do my work."
"But you reallyyy realllyy love him soo muchh worrrrrr..."
"haha,oh well,love is overrated."
"whoaa,hahah..okayy okayy,liking your answer.."
The last thing i needed to do was, they gave me a pen,and asked me to sell it.I did just fairly okay,i guess my promoting skills didn't emerge tonight, but i tried my best saying that pen could write up to 3km long when it's connected behind a lorry.....hahahahahaha!!!....I wish i could have done more imaginatively...however knowing myself, being too imaginative is not such a good idea after all.I might come up with crazy unrealistic ideas like a levitating pen which floats 4 inches on air when dropped.....eHHh..bagus jugakk kalo ada pen yang bolehh terapung kalo jatuhh kan, takla menyusahkan badan nak tunduk amik, haaaaa =D
At the end of the interview, they mentioned that most probably i would be put into the External Relations department, because of my fluent english.I was initially excited to get into ICX for its international interns that i would get to meet and manage, but they said,it's mostly technical work and emailing.I don't mind,hehe...as long as i'm in aiesec, any department would be fine by me,ohoo!
PS:esk first meeting tarian india pulak!!!ngeeee
