Interview and adventure!

i went for an interview for mass communication(broadcasting) at uitm merbok last saturday.Frankly speaking,that was the first time i went for a formal interview,pretty nerve wrecking,but i tried my best to remain calm and just be myself (which wasn't really a good idea according to my mum,hehe).

My mum and cik ku madihah ibrahim insisted i wear a cotton baju kurung.So i did.And when i arrived,it seems i was the only one wearing so 'kampung',haha!!The other students wore baju kebaya lip lap lip lap,tudung wardina lilit sana sini,bling2 penuhhh..hahah!!Not mentioning make up lipstick and fake eyelashes,huh!...and i prepared myself with what?just a comb!HAHA!..

Thanks to madihah,she was willing to wake up early and drive me for my interview,awwww....I read that morning's newspaper on the way there,because i had some instinct that told me that i should go through it.And my judgement was right!

There were two interviewers,both ladies.One from shah alam,and one from jitra kedah.At about 9am,we had to write an essay,"Write about yourself,why you choose this course,and your aspirations.".I had some problems starting out,ya laa...haven't written anything on paper for many months already.But yeahh,i tried to be humourous in my essay.One of them was,"When my parents started to grow grey hair and my dad going bald,they decided that i was their last child."...HAHA!...mampoeh kalo parents i tau i tulis mcm tuh.

Here's a rough idea how the front to front interview went.

Lady 1:Kang Zetty Anis....i assume Kang is your father's name right?

Me: Yes,that's my dad's name.

Lady 2: What should i call you,zetty?

Me:yes,zetty is fine,hehe

Lady 2: Zetty's a very nice name.So,all of your siblings have the same pattern of name,with kang in front,..(while lady 1 was going through my certificates)

Me:yup,i have a brother,his name is Kang Zarul Irwan.

Lady 2: Ohh!with a letter Z too,interesting!(amused).So you're from Alor setar right?tell me about alor setar,because i'm from shah alam,and she's from jitra kedah.

Me:Oh alor setar,most people think of it as a retirement city.(here's where i forgot i was in a formal interview).You know,when alor setar people,during their youngs days,go to KL to work hard and all,then suddenly when they get old,ahhh...they're tired of living the busy life,they come back to their kampung and retire here in alor setar.

Then the interview got a bit serious,no more about myself.

Lady 1: so,do you read the newspaper?

Me:..yes...?..(trying hard not to appear like i'm lying)

Lady 2: do you read it everyday,or only when you're requires to..?

Me:..ahh.(i forgot about not being too honest)...yes,i do read it,i read the newspaper before i go to sleep..*aiyak..i pulled a smile,hoping they would smile too,luckily they find my answer amusing,haha!*

Lady 2: So,what's the latest in malaysian politics?

Me: *damn it,thankfully i 'went through the newspaper this morning,so i tried to show that i was confident* Ohh,there's a by-election going on in Hulu Selangor.

Lady 2: So,who are the candidates?

Me: *A.I.Y.A.K!*...i remembered..ermm...Kala...

Lady 1 and 2 started laughing,"what.kalamanthan is it?haha!"

Me: err...sorry,i just remembered...Kala...something.

Lady 2:okay2..so..ermm.which,party is that candidate from?*looking straight into my eyes*

Me:*stop asking about this election already la!i'm weak at politics!*..Ermm...i have to go with my senses on this...B.N?

Lady 2: wahhh....pandai teka..haha!!

hahaha..so that was pretty much it,i called my mum telling here everything and she was laughing like hell,she said,"What kala-something,KAMALANATHAN laaaa,ask you to read newspaper everyday you don't want haa.Luckily you didn't slip out that you read the newspaper at night before you go to sleep because,you wake up only in the afternoon!haha"

Then,i got lectured both by my mum and teacher zanifa,saying that mass comm students should be up to date with current issues.TOINK!!!.... yes2 mama and teacher,i will start reading and understanding the news more from now on....i get your point.

After the interview,me,madihah and her roommates went for an adventure!!haha!...Madihah drove to Queensbay,because all of them wanted to shop,haha!They seems to happy like they just finished all papers from their finals,when the fact was,they only finished one paper!ahah!!takpa,yang penting semangat adaaa...

We went all the way to batu ferringhi,madihah hebattt,drive smpai batu ferringhi dahh!hahah!!FINALLY!!!..i've been waiting sooo long to spend all my money on....CHEAP DVDS!!!!....muahahha!self-satisfaction!!....i spent almost rm60 on dvds,hohoho!!...i'm lovin it!The other spend their hundreds on clothes and cardigans and shoes,i spend on dvds! =D

But they did study okay,kat mcd pulak tuhh,after chelsea lost to tottenham!HAHAHAAH!...yup...we slept in the car for a few hours.There was no use driving back to uitm since the gates close early.My first time experience sleeping in a car,cooL!!!...

Penang people i tell you...never sleep....it's like...the whole wee hours in the morning,mcd was full of people.at 5.30 am,the roads were already jammed,and mcd had many queues of customers!!gila is it....don't they laze on their beds enjoying the breeze of the morning covered in blankets and dream???

I drove them back,and we arrived Uitm merbok at about 7.30am.All of us slept till 3pm.hoyeahhh!!this is life dude =p

PS: it was nice meeting and getting to know new friends like kak mira and shasha ^_^
